Ankama has just dropped a trailer for its newly announced RPG Waven

The team behind Dofus and Wakfu have a cosy new RPG coming and they just dropped gave us a first look at Waven in a new trailer. The visual delight accompanies the unveil of this new project for a French outfit that first launched the Dofus MMO in 2004. Waven isn’t a new MMO however, with a distinct look, feel, and gameplay elements for newbies.

Waven looks likely to be an inviting title that the developers describe as the cozy gamer’s answer to a tactical deck building RPG. Set in a world that looks familiar and flooded, you’ll pick your character and set out into a persistent world where only a few islands have survived the rising waters, Mixing explorations and turn based combat in between island hopping, Waven looks like hours of adorable entertainment. Players can take this on go solo or team up to choose a hero, equip your best spells and set sail for an incredible odyssey. Along the way, potential heroes will experience a range of new islands and encounters. Across PvE, PvP and Island Defense modes, every type of potential deck will be tested as player utilize different archetypes, spells, equipment and companions to overcome all odds.

At its heart, the free to play title looks like a fun frolic into a range oof ideas that probably won’t take itself too seriously. It should set sail on mobile, PC, and Mac in in late 2023. There’s not long to wait so check out the trailer above and head to the official Waven website now.
