Fight the Seven Judgements in This Phantom Blade Zero Year of the Snake Trailer

S-Game just released a thrilling new Phantom Blade Zero trailer to welcome in The Year of the Snakes!

Upcoming martial arts action title Phantom Year Zero welcomes the snake with a stunning feat for the eyes today. Phantom Blade Zero got a new trailer that gives those of us more familiar with a gamepad than a spear, a chance to check out some of the in-game combat. The new teaser is around 5 minutes of intense action that depicts an epic battle between the player protagonist and the Seven Judgements. You can check it out above and experience a little bit of what’s coming to PC and PlayStation 5.

Following on from the likes of Black Myth: Wukong and Sekiro, this period piece draws on localised concepts and mixes them with a bit of myth. Phantom Blade Zero’s combat echoes some of the stylized combat seen across these types of action games but draws on Hong Kong martial arts films of the 1980s and 1990s, alongside the traditional techniques and philosophies of Chinese martial arts. The result is a mix of combat styles. The trailer showcases the White Python and Red Viper weapons, two snake-shaped swords that vary in length and focus on multi-hit combos. Later ion the video, the combat turns into a boss encounter with the leader of this band, the Venomous Softblade comes out. The second showcase weapon is a flexible sword that excels in countering and deflecting attacks, primarily used for defense and counter attacks.

Phantom Blade Zero will feature a bunch more weapons Axes, artifacts, and I’d expect simple fisticuffs are going to server players well across this quest. Taking on the role as an elite assassin who is framed for murder, players must venture across a semi open world, fight powerful enemies, and utilise a range of combat techniques to overcome this accusation. Influenced by martial arts media, recent action-oriented releases, weaving in Wuxia themes, the full launch is likely to be even more exciting than the Year of the Snake trailer than just dropped.
