Final Fantasy VII Remake video dev diaries debuts

The first in a series of video developer diaries about Final Fantasy VII Remake has made its way to YouTube. The series will feature interviews with creators, artists, and developers behind the effort to bring FFVII to a new generation of players.

The first video is an introduction of sorts and features producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Tetsuya Nomura, co-director Motomu Toriyama, co-director Naoki Hamaguchi, and writer Kazushige Nojima. Each speaks to the efforts to reimagine the game in new ways. Future episodes will feature “a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes information” centered around the development of music, combat, characters, and more.

Currently, there is no word on when future episodes will come out or how many videos will be in the series. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as more are released.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is due out as a PlayStation 4 exclusive title on April 10th. A PS4 demo is currently available. Other platform releases will not occur until April 2021.
