Final Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer makes its debut

The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has made its debut months ahead of its launch on December 20th. The trailer comes in at nearly three minutes in length and there are a lot of callbacks to all of the eras of the Skywalker clan that began in 1977.

“While the saga (of the Skywalkers) will end, the story lives forever.” the media reads.

Rey (Daisy Ridley) is the center of the trailer but more than a few familiar faces also appear. These include Kylo Ren, Rose Tico, C-3PO, R2D2, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, Emperor Palpatine, and, of course, Leia Organa played by Carrie Fisher who passed away in 2017.

Tickets began being offered for sale when the trailer arrived last night and sales have broken several records have been shattered. In fact, Atom, a ticket seller, reports that Episode IX sold more tickets in its first hour than Avengers: Endgame, the previous record-holder.

Episode IX has also broken the record for the longest movie in the long-running series. The Rise of Skywalker clocks in at 155 minutes. The original film, A New Hope, was only 121 minutes and The Last Jedi comes in a close second at 152 minutes.
