Fire Emblem Engage, the latest in the long running adventure series, is coming to Manga publication Shonen Jump.
Fire Emblem Engage, the newest entry in the long running series from Nintendo, is about to get its very own manga series. Instead of following the likes of Arcane or Blood Dragon into the anime industry, the team behind Fire Emblem are aiming to publish on the pages of Shonen Jump.
This new spin off will grace the pages of this serialized publication on 3 February, returning for monthly instalments. The series announcement was initially picked up by the good folks over at Siliconera and looks likely to feature the male version of protagonist Alear. Not much more is known about the storyline as yet, but you will need to read Japanese as there’s no news of a western release yet.
Fans of everything Oktaku and Japanese gaming aficionados will already be familiar with Shonen Jump’s flirtations with gaming. The printed publication has seen successful series like Bleach and Naruto make the jump to anime, then kick off destruction across PC and console. While the likes of Jump Force are far more common than game to manga translations, this isn’t the first time that a Nintendo game has become reading material. Splatoon has already had the same treatment.
With a very different style to the squidy antics of Splatoon and artist Kazurou Kyou working on these pages, we think it’s likely to look fantastic. The preview pages above look incredible and I’m off to get Google Translate and find out exactly what’s going on.
