Square Enix has announced the release of the massive 6.05 update to its wildly popular MMO, Final Fantasy XIV. This is the first major patch to the game since the rocky launch of Endwalker about a month ago. FFXIV players were frustrated for several weeks following Endwalker’s launch due to huge queues to play as well as other server congestion issues. However, Square Enix has ironed out those difficulties and is ready to provide players with even more reasons to log in — hopefully without issue.
The 6.05 update brings a host of new content for players to explore but is probably best exemplified by the Excitatron 6000 treasure hunt dungeon. Players will need to “find and open treasure coffers obtained from kumbhiraskin treasure maps” and, once inside, players will be able to “test their luck and obtain priceless treasures”.
Other components of the update include:
- Housing additions and the announcement that the winners of the FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest 2019 have had their items added to the game.
- New prizes have been added to the Manderville Gold Saucer.
- Actions and Traits have been updated for a number of classes.
- The Savage version of the raid dungeons, Pandaemonium: Asphodelos has been added along with a long list of loot that can be found inside.
- New items, recipes, mounts, and minions have been added.
- New achievements are now live.
- Bug fixes, feature enhancements, and a number of resolved issues have been implemented.
