First Gameplay Revealed by Funcom for Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden

Mutant Year Zero

‘Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden’ is coming for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 4 in 2018, and features a deep storyline combining strategy and the turn-based tactical combat of ‘XCOM’ with real-time exploration and stealth gameplay.

‘Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden’ made significant waves in the tidal pool when Funcom revealed it with a cinematic reveal trailer, and it had the internet on fire. A character named Dux, a duct-taped, crossbow carrying, anthropomorphic duck had a sudden rise to fame in the time shortly thereafter. If you can ruffle some feathers you can become popular on the Internet.

In previous weeks the game was presented behind closed doors at the Game Developer Conference and the bird was present there. If it talks like a duck and walks like a duck, maybe it is a computer generated duck being revealed by Funcom for the new game.

This game is being developed by Bearded Ladies and published by Funcom, and it is set to release in 2018 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Players will have the ability to play and take the lead of a group of unlikely heroes like Dux and Bormin. Your job is to help them navigate the post-human Earth with its crumbling infrastructure and mutated monsters as far as the eye can see.
