Epic Games has announced that it is postponed Fortnite Season 3 and the upcoming live event The Device. Developers cited the ongoing protests in the United States as the reason saying that they want to support “equality and justice, diversity and inclusion”.
“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color. We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing.”
As a result, the live event, The Device, will not be released into the game until Monday, June 15th with Season 3 making its debut on June 17th. The company acknowledges the frustration some players are feeling due to this content being delayed for a second time but indicates that it appreciates the patience and understanding “during these difficult times”.
