Friday the 13th Update Will Include Offline Play

FRIDAY THE 13TH

If you’re a slasher who literally hates everyone, including those you’re hunting while online, no worries! In an upcoming patch, Friday the 13th update, you can take all your knife-wielding rage offline and kill bots. For the less antisocial, it’s also a great way to learn the maps and practice before heading in to take on the “real deal”.

You’ll be able to do all sorts of neat things:

  • select offline play and offline bots
  • choose your map
  • select which counselor
  • choose from three difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard)
From the Friday the 13th forums:

The higher the difficulty you choose, the longer counselors will remember you being in the area, the more likely they are to fight you, the quicker they are to react to your presence, the quicker they are to exit hiding spaces when you leave, and the more likely they are to use Medical Sprays smartly.

They’ll fix cars, boats, hide in closets, under beds, in sleeping bags, barricade doors, and more to keep you from making them into another victim. Feel like honing your single prey hunting skills? You’ll be able to select from 1 to 7 counselors in your offline game to ensure that you are playing against exactly how many counselors you want to stalk.

The patch also brings some other nifty things like a level cap increase from 101 to 150. This comes along with “cool things” that will unlock as you progress.

Mitch and Fox and a couple other counselors will be getting some new coloring options to make them stand out from the crowd.

For Jason, you’ll be able to “murder pesky counselors in new ways”. Grab Kills will be included for free and new bloody variations of multiple Jasons to show off your murderous side at all times.

More level rewards will be added, though the team isn’t quite ready to talk about it yet.

Holiday Happenings

On December 18th, players will have an increased chance to get a Rare or Epic perk. Devs recommend “hord[ing] CP you collect over the weekend and spend it next week instead”. The increased odds will continue through the 23rd.

On December 23 through January 2nd, you’ll be able to score double CP.

Steam and PC players will see the patch released on Monday, December 18th. XBox One patch date is as yet undetermined.
