Developer Harmonix is about to bring a rather different musical experience as they bring Fuser to PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year.
Unveiled today and published by Korea’s NCSoft, this mix of rhythm action and fantasy puts players in the heart of the mix as they combine elements from hit songs to craft and perform sharable mixes for their own audience. Described as a nonstop musical festival, the latest title from the creators of Dance Central and Rock Band focuses on building your own sound. A huge range of top tracks can be molded to make a very different sound. Using the title’s proprietary tech, FUSER will allow players to seamlessly blend vocals, bass lines, and other instrumentation to create their very own festival. Over 100 songs will be available to blend and beat break by some rather innovative gameplay mechanics, including the following.
• 50 Cent – “In Da Club”
• Billie Eilish – “bad guy”
• Blue Öyster Cult – “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”
• The Chainsmokers ft. Daya – “Don’t Let Me Down”
• The Clash – “Rock the Casbah”
• Fatboy Slim – “The Rockafeller Skank”
• Imagine Dragons – “Thunder”
• J. Balvin & Willy William – “Mi Gente”
• Lady Gaga – “Born This Way”
• Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus – “Old Town Road (Remix)”
• Lizzo – “Good As Hell”
• LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock – “Party Rock Anthem”
• Migos – “Stir Fry”
• Post Malone – “Better Now”
• Smash Mouth – “All Star”
• Warren G & Nate Dogg – “Regulate”
A musical adventure might be the sort of thing that Harmonix can a pedigree in creating but Fuser is something distinctly different for publisher NCSoft. More well known for big-budget MMORPG like Lineage 2, Aion, and Guild Wars 2, it certainly seems to be a step in a different direction that has the Korean outfit excited. “When we first saw FUSER, we instantly knew it was something special,” said Dr. Songyee Yoon, CEO, NCSOFT. “It takes the amazing developer pedigree that Harmonix has developed over decades and distills the essence of creating, listening to, and sharing music where every player can be their own star. We can’t wait to see all the creations people will make.”
If you’re ready for something that takes some creative license with the modern musical genre and puts it on stage for you and your friends to watch then Fuser is worth grabbing a ticket to. Head over to the official website or check out the trailer above.
