Futuristic Games to Play in 2021

The Sci-Fi game genre is one of the most widely known, loved, and respected. The futuristic appeal in Sci-Fi introduces space travel, other dimensions, robots and cities of the future and so much more.

With the sudden flooding of futuristic and Sci-Fi games recently, there’s something for every kind of gamer. Whether you prefer to game on PC or console (or both) there are oodles to get into this year.

The excitement is tangible with Playstation- and Microsoft’s new next-gen consoles out. How will the new version of games play? What’ll be the difference from last-gen? There are many questions.

With plenty of noteworthy games heading to PC and consoles in the next short while, you’ll find everything that’s worth waiting for on every platform and beyond.

E3 2021 gave us a whole host of upcoming games to look forward to in 2021 and into 2022 for all platforms, so we invite you to read on as we list some of the best games to look forward to this year.

Futuristic Games 1

Star Wars: Squadrons

Released in October of last year, Star Wars Squadrons is still relatively new. The Star Wars enterprise continues to thrill fans at a steady pace. This shooting game is set in space (obviously) and you take to the pilot’s cockpit with the goal of defeating the opposite side.

Although the story is a little flimsy, it’s still a game worth betting on as Star Wars fans will still consider this game just because it’s part of the franchise. It makes our list for space travel with lots of shooting action.

Biomutant is one of the most highly anticipated games of this year, as it was due to be released last year.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world where you fight a vast array of strange creatures and incredible monsters, Biomutant looks like an RPG with great combat mechanics.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk saw its fair share of delays but is finally here. Set in an open world, it’s an action-adventure story. Explore Night City, a dark megalopolis obsessed with power and body modification and all sorts of futuristic tech and machinery.

You play as V, an outlawed mercenary hell-bent on retrieving a unique implant that is the key to immortality.

Futuristic Games 2

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey

We love Elite Dangerous as a space flight simulation game and we are even more excited to see what Odyssey has in store as space trading and combat elements are added in this massive open-world and open-ended video game. The game is supported with more content for players to experience in the next DLC coming out this year called Odyssey.

Odyssey is a rather big expansion, giving players the ability to explore new planets on foot. Players can meet fellow pilots which should allow some new unique social hubs.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

We’re eager to try out Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This time the game will be taking stories from all 9 of the Star Wars movies. No doubt this will be a lengthy game as the development team attempts to parody the vast storylines from beginning to end.

Lego video games are known for their takes on popular franchises and the spin on them to make them a kid-friendly, toned-down version with a fun and quirky game narrative. There are bound to be some memorable game play moments, iconic characters, amusing cutscenes, and spectacular locations, considering that the game is based on all the Star Wars episodes.

Futuristic Games 3

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Join Ratchet and Clank as you dimension-hop to battle an evil emperor from another reality, intent on conquering cross-dimensional worlds. This action-packed blaster is sure to delight with spectacular visuals and crazy weaponry. Take out the insane arsenal of new weapons including the Burst Pistol, Topiary Sprinkler, and the Shatterbomb.

This game is an intergalactic shift of dimensional rifts and new world combinations. Warp rapidly across battlefields and gain the combat advantage while repairing planetary rifts with dimension-spanning puzzles.

Initially set for release in 2019, Sable is set to release this year on various platforms this year. This stunning open-world adventure features Sable, a young adventurer in search of a mask. The game is all about discovery and puzzled-solving and allows you to explore the wonderfully unique and original world developed by Shedworks.

Shedworks artistry is beautiful with a welcome change from other game developers who try to make games as graphically realistic as possible.
