Genshin Impact Gets A PlayStation 5 Version

Genshin Impact, the hugely successful, anime inspired RPG is getting PlayStation 5 version in Spring 2021, with some next gen upgrades too.

Fans of miHoYo’s massively successful anime styled fantasy RPG, Genshin Impact are set to get a brand new version this spring. The Otaku team behind Genshin Impact has announced that the residents of Monstadt are coming to the Playstation 5. Initially revealed via PlayStation and miHoYo’s own social media feeds, the newest instalment in Genshin Impact’s ongoing success also got a brand new trailer to boot, which you can check out above.

The latest platform to receive the title might already be able to access this worldwide phenomenon via PlayStation 4 backward compatibility, but the PlayStation 5 port will also include some added extras that will make use of the next gen hardware on offer. As you might already expect, loading times will be significantly down thanks to the solid state hard drive that is part of the PlayStation 5. Enhanced visuals are already evident in the trailer, and built in Dual Sense controller support should give better feedback to players who choose to take on the challenges that lie over the hills and on into the world of Teyvat.

We don’t know a ton more yet about the PlayStation 5 version, so we can’t confirm if you’ll need a new account for this adventure or if there’s any hint of cross play compatibility. If you want to get acquainted with Genshin Impact and grab some time with Venti before Genshin Impact gets a PlayStation 5 version, then you can grab Genshin Impact for free on iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation 4 right now for free.
