Genshin Impact Version 5.3: Incandescent Ode of Resurrection is just around the corner, so it’s a perfect time to check out events and banners! The developers have shared a detailed look ahead, outlining both halves of the patch when it comes to pulling.
And this is the big one: not only is Natlan’s Archon Quest coming to an end, marking the debut of Mavuika, but elsewhere Liyue is celebrating the Lantern Rite with the usual festival. New and returning characters, regional banner, plentiful awards – all awaits you in the upcoming update.

Genshin Impact – Version 5.3 Phase I:

Mavuika is a fierce Pyro DPS that has two unique combat styles: fighting with her claymore, or crushing opponents while riding her Flamestrider. By tapping her Elemental Skill, the Ring of Searing Radiance manifests, following Mavuika or the active character and unleashing continuous Pyro attacks. By holding her Elemental Skill, Mavuika mounts her Flamestrider, allowing her to scale cliffs, drive across land and water alike, glide in mid-air, and charge into opponents in her path.
Citlali, also known as Granny Itztli, brings a biting cold to the battlefield. While in combat, Citlali can deploy Cryo shields and summon a powerful Cryo storm of AoE DMG with her little companions. While in her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, “Granny Itztli” lowers the Pyro and Hydro RES of opponents affected by Frozen or Melt reactions, even when Citlali is off-field.

Clorinde (5-star Electro Sword) and Arlecchino (5-star Pyro Polearm) return for their first reruns in Version 5.3 Phase 2. Both are powerful on-field damage dealers. They will be accompanied by the new character, Anemo 4-star Catalyst Lan Yan. She is an impressive Shielder that can convert its element into Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro to absorb corresponding Elemental DMG. After the conversion, she can also leap into the air to attack, dealing the same type of Elemental DMG to her opponents.
But even that’s not all, because there is also going to be the Chronicled Wish regional banner dedicated to Liyue. If you were waiting for Shenhe to finally be let out of the basement, this is your patch.
Chronicled Wish – Remembrance of Jade and Stone:
Note that the rules for pulling on this banner are different from the usual Event Wish.
This banner features both characters AND weapons. Travelers will be able to take advantage of “Chronicled Path” by selecting a 5-star character or weapon from the list. If the Designated Item is a character, the 5-star items you can obtain in the Wish will all be characters; whereas if the Designated Item is a weapon, the 5-star items you can obtain in the Wish will all be weapons.
It takes a maximum of 90 wishes conducted to secure a 5-star item through the guarantee system. There is a 50% chance that it will be the designated item. If you’ve lost the 50/50, you receive a Fate Point. After that, the next item you obtain through this Wish is guaranteed to be the one you’ve Designated. Genshin Impact Version 5.3 Events and Additions Include:
- Lantern Rite returns! Take part in the event to claim Primogems ×1,600 and the new glider “Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined” (via in-game mails), Intertwined Fate ×10 (via daily login event), a free 4-star Liyue character (via Lantern Rite event), and Xiangling’s new outfit (via Festive Fever in the event).
- New Archon Quest Act V: join Mavuika to face the Abyss in a decisive battle. Unlock the Traveler’s Pyro element.
- Three new characters: Mavuika, Citlali & Lan Yan.
- Two new outfits: Hu Tao – “Cherries Snow-Laden” (limited-time discount), and Xiangling – “New Year’s Cheer” (free reward from Lantern Rite).
- Two New Bosses: “Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker” and the new Weekly Boss “Lord of Eroded Primal Fire.”
- New Additions: Rhythm game becomes permanent, and new Envisaged Echoes: Ganyu and Kazuha.
- New Optimizations: Boss respawn time reduced to 5 seconds without the need to teleport away, Artifact Inventory Limit increased to 2,100, and an improved Training Guide.
