Developer HoYoverse shared the latest character teaser for anime action-adventure Genshin Impact. The new video is dedicated to the story of the upcoming 5-star Anemo Catalyst Wanderer, previously known as The Balladeer, Scaramouche, Kunikuzushi and a variety of other names.
“When we place our hopes in something that does not belong to us, we doom ourselves to despair. But if despair does not lead to destruction, something new will rise from the ashes.”
From Yae Miko players could learn that Scaramouche was created as a prototype for the Raiden Shogun puppet, the proof of concept. However, he was considered too frail, having cried during his creation. Some other details of his past could be learned from the Rather Aged Notes scattered around Inazuma as well as the description of the Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set.
For those more interested in the gameplay side of things, HoYoverse also shared the overview of Wanderer’s abilities. He is a long-range damage dealer that has the ability to fight and move through the air.
Using his Elemental Skill allows him to leap into the air and enter the Windfavored state, gaining Kuugoryoku. Before exhausting it, the Wanderer can hover in the air. When he uses Normal and Charged attacks, they will be converted into Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai respectively, which deal increased damage over a wider AoE.
Wanderer’s Elemental Burst deals multiple instances of AoE Anemo damage and can be cast while the character is hovering in his Windfavored state.
Wanderer is one of the two new characters coming in Genshin Impact version 3.3 “All Senses Clear, All Existence Void”. He will be accompanied by the 4-star Anemo Archer Faruzan in the Phase I character banner. The re-run character participating in the banner alongside him is Arataki Itto, the Geo Claymore 5-star. Version 3.3 Phase II character banners feature the long-awaited returning characters: Electro Polearm 5-star Raiden Shogun as well as Hydro Sword 5-star Kamisato Ayato. The 4-star lineup is currently unknown.
