EA Sports has announced a new addition to Madden NFL 21 that will bring some pretty wicked new gameplay options to players. The Yard game mode will allow players to take part in the craziness that is backyard football. Players will create a unique avatar that can be outfitted in tons of custom gear. During play in The Yard, all sorts of game-changing trick plays are included such as behind-the-back passing, double passes, and “wild gameplay moments to win”. The action takes place in new field options from around the world.
The best part is that the action starts today for anyone who downloads the Madden NFL 21 Mobile App. Players can create their avatar in “The Yard: Underground” and will immediately start earning rewards by playing the “single-player narrative journey with 5-on-5 football gameplay”. Once the game launches on August 28th, the action shifts to 6-on-6 and it can be enjoyed solo, in online co-op vs AI, or via head-to-head multiplayer in teams of one, two, or three. Players who connect their mobile and the full retail game accounts will also be able to grab a unique avatar, in-game currency, and Madden Rank.
The app is available for iOS and Android mobile devices and it can be downloaded from the App Store or via Google Play.
House rules are the name of the game and creativity after the snap is where The Yard’s all-new gameplay takes full effect. New animations lead to momentum-shifting moments, where players can run up the score with extended play combinations. In the Gillette Style Zone, players will be able to customize their avatar, including facial hair, hairstyle and more, to express their individuality. Visiting the Gear Store allows players to outfit their avatar in fresh looks, with exclusive new gear drops planned all season long. Players will also develop their own playstyle as they rack up wins in The Yard, all while earning experience points, rewards and competing in new field locations with unique vibes and varied rule sets.
Look for Madden NFL 21 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting August 28th.
