New Melvor Idle Green Game Jam 2024 activities announced include composting, scrap scavenging, composting, and cooking.
Jagex and Games by Malc have announced that Melvor Idle will be joining the lineup for the 5th Edition of Green Game Jam. Dropping the news last night and detailing some of the in game details, the news mean that this chilled out twist on the Runescape archetype will get a bunch of new additions in the real world, to help us think about how we live in the real world. The Green game jam is a flagship initiative organised by the Playing for the Planet Alliance to promote action-led environmental changes. Players logging in to quest in Melvior won’t be lambasted by slogans, but instead asked to carve out a more sustainable life with three key themes: Food, Waste, and Restoration. Melvor Idle players can look out for the incoming Melvor Active, a real-world activity that highlights three specific skills to encourage positive change and more sustainable lifelong habits for all players when launched on Monday 9th September.
Each week from September 9th to September 30th, one of the game’s core skills will be highlighted to encourage Melvor Idle fans to engage with more positive habits that benefit living more sustainably in real life. Whether that’s hunting scraps of food for composting or collecting seeds to regrow new food.
Those core skill are part of a much wider idle RPG, that initially released in 2021 and has somehow been a zen hit. Heavily inspired by Runescape, it strips back much of the action adventure and allows players to click through their world. Skills, pets, combat, exploration, and crafting all sit at the heart of this strangely compelling adventure. For fans of Runescape, it’s a way to get your fix without having to get on the gear grind.
While the Melvior Idle Green Game Jam 2024 activities don’t confirm any in game changes, it’s a cool idea to help keep our biggest platform in one piece long enough that we don’t all step in the fire. Check out more on the official Steam store page or jump on and click across iOS and Android.
