Pokemon Go’s very first community day of 2022 has been revealed and while we’re just tapping the breaks, Niantic is set to kick off the new year with a bang.
Anybody preparing to ease themselves back into the world with an escape to the great outdoors can look forward to a new community day in Pokemon Go next year. The January 2022 entry in this series of events has been unveiled by developer Niantic and it looks like ice types are at the heart of the festivities. The announcement confirms that Spheal, the Clap Pokémon will feature prominently in the event.
The aforementioned blue pocket monster will appear more frequently in the wild during the day and provide trainers with an opportunity to catch and evolve this Pokemon. If evolved during the event, Spheal will transform into Seaeo, and trainers will be rewarded with a Walrein that knows the Charged Attack Icicle Spear and Fast Attack Powder Snow. This isn’t the only event running during next month’s community day, however. Players participating will take advantage of triple XP, longer lure times, extended incense activation, as well as some other photo mode surprises.
As usual, this also involves new additions to the store, including a free bundle of 30 Ultra Balls, and a special one-time community box bundle. If you haven’t picked up Pokemon Go for some time maybe the new year is time to pick up this augmented reality mobile game.
