Intellivision has unveiled a line of Amico Limited Boxed Edition games for the Intellivision Amico entertainment system.

If you remember the days of the early Intellivision systems then you’ll probably remember when video games came in physical form. Intellivision is bringing this back a bit with the news that the retro console manufacturer is et to publish a line of Limited Box Edition games for the new Amico entertainment system. Thankfully, the media involved here is a little more up to date than the cassette tapes and humungous cardboard boxes of yesteryear, although some of the games have a distinct air of the original.

Titles like Moon Patrol Dynablaaster, and Finnigan Fox, but no Earthworm Jim, feature in the new game bundles for Intellivision’s family-focused gaming system. Each edition comes with collectible components as well as the included games. 3D lenticular cards and collectible coins come in every box while the included code is tied to an RFID card. this  retro inspired card allows a digital download of the game once the title releases. Additionally, each game sold is registered on a blockchain meaning that while traditional Steam titles are downloaded once and can’t be resold easily, these can simply change ownership. How much that will cost in terms of gas, hasn’t quite been nailed down, however.
