The upcoming anime-inspired beat em up Granblue fantasy VS just got a release date for players in the EU and Aus, and it lands 27 March.
While wee got hands-on with this upcoming title at the start of the month, it has taken until today for publisher Marvelous to confirm the release date for the anticipated title. Granblue Fantasy Versus will hit digital and physical stores later this month although it looks like time pressure will see the EU and Aus regions drop the physical Premium Edition. Set to be an EU exclusive, publisher Marvelous confirmed the reasons behind the delay.
“In order to ensure a timely release of Granblue Fantasy: Versus we have made the difficult decision to cancel the physical Premium Edition.” explains Scott Emsen, PR & Community Manager at Marvelous Europe Limited “The reason for this cancellation is due to ongoing time constraints and production issues with the physical Premium Edition.”
This doesn’t mean that fans of the Granbluefranchsie can’t get their hands on something a bit special. Alongside the standard editions of the game, gamers can pick up the Digital Character Pass Set and Digital Deluxe Edition. The two enhanced editions are detailed below and should allow players to set themselves apart from the crowd without gaining any power creep on conventional players.

If you recognize the name Granblue Fantasy, it’s probably due to the long-running mobile RPG that this title stems from. Employing the experience of Arc System works, Grablue Fantasy Versus takes the core mechanics that the Japanese developer honed to perfection across titles like Blazblue and adds in an RPG twist that makes this Granblue game something unique. While it is set in the same mythical universe full of flying contraptions and heroes that made the Japanese RPG loved, the new interpretation introduces the story to a whole new audience on Playstation 4.
Fans who are interested in the RPG mode can pick u even more extras by besting the RPG element of this title to pick up extra crystals and a Vyrn Suit outfit, assuming you manage it on hard mode.
