Voodoo, a mobile brand with more than 5 billion downloads, is offering up a cool $1 million for developers entering their Winter Game Competition.
If you’ve got a game in the works, or the time to polish off a great idea then you might want to take a look at Voodoo’s new Winter Games Competition. While there might not be much to play right now publisher mobile Voodoo is looking to find a new hit with the launch of their Winter Games Competition. Kicked off on 16 December and running until 20 February 2022, this new inventive code ’em u is designed to help studios brush up on the latest insights on hyper-casual mechanics, market trends, successes, implementation to get their games off the ground and onto the top of the app store.
While I’m more likely to end up playing these, anybody looking to gun for the top prize will get direct access to support from Voodoo’s Publishing and Product teams for the duration of the competition. Live streams will also be available bi-weekly from January and filled with reinforced product knowledge to help studios build and develop their prototypes. Thankfully there’s more than just advice available. Voodoo is offering up four prizes for participants. As well as the $1 million top tier, the following are available:
- First prize – $1million – For all launched and confirmed games that exceed 5M downloads in the first four months following launch.
- Second prize – $200,000 – For any launched and confirmed game within the theme during the competition.
- Third prize – $10,000 – For all games hitting a less than $0.20 CPI and more than 30% D1 retention on Android, or less than $0.30 CPI and more than 30% D1 on iOS, or a D3 playtime of over 60 minutes and less than $0.60 CPI on both platforms.
- Referral prize – $100,000 – For referring a studio that goes on to win a primary prize.
Beyond the major money, Voodoo is offering an all-inclusive (flights and accommodation) trip to Paris for one studio for 5 days, including desk space at Voodoo HQ and a chance to meet and work directly with the Voodoo teams.
