Valve’s development team is holding a Half Life Alyx AMA on Redditt today and you’d better be quick because it kicks off soon.
Starting at 9 AM PT and happening over on the Half Life sub-Redditt, this is the first chance the general public has had to put questions directly to the studio building a new entry in the Half Life franchise. Announced on the Vale twitter account, this Ask Me Anything thread should encourage fans to
“Come prepared with all your burning questions about the game’s development, because we’ll be there to answer some of them”, according to the studio.
Half Life Alyx is just the latest installment in the iconic series that first hit PC screens back in 1998. The new title takes place as the Combine begins their alien invasion. Set before the events of the second Half Life title, it puts players in the shoes of Alyx Vance as she and her father Eli as they begin the fight against the deadly Combine. We’ve already seen a glimpse of what to expect, including combat and some early anti gravity enhancements that nod to the much loved abilities of the first two major entries.
Due to launch on VR platforms, Alyx is not likely to get a flat screen outing. Fans will need a Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, or a Windows Mixed Reality headset to experience the adventure. If you already have a compatible headset then you only have to wit until march 2020 to get in on the action. I the mean tie you can head over to Steam to check out the game, as well as playing Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, and Half-Life 2: Episode 2 for free until Half-Life Alyx. What are you going to ask the devs when you head over to Redditt for the Half Life Alyx AMA that kicks off any minute now.
