Over the last couple of weeks, the amount of complaints oriented at the Blizzard’s Hearthstone matchmaking has grown rapidly. It is possible that the company is doing some kind of experiment or is implementing changes to the matchmaking system as currently there is no official response from Blizzard yet.
The crux of the problem is that instead of searching for an opponent around your own level, the matchmaking system frequently pits high-ranked players against a much more casual crowd. As a result, low-ranked players cannot climb the ladder as they are fighting against stronger opponents, while high-ranked players get next to nothing if they win and lose a lot if they don’t.
It isn’t the first few days of the season anymore, where this is likely to happen. We’re about 2/3 of the way done with this month and, somehow, Top 10 Legend players are still getting matched against non-Legends. It seems like Blizzard changed something with how players are being matched and, as is expected, hasn’t actually said anything about it.
