Homeworld: Vast Reaches takes the iconic sci-fi tactical franchise onto Meta Quest 2 and 3.
Homeworld is now available as a VR adventure. Before we leap into the action in the third mainline instalment on 13 May, fans of the sci-fi tactical title will be able to strap on a Meta Quest headset and become the all-powerful Fleet Command. The new VR instalment in this franchise is a brand new campaign and a standalone tale that imagines the iconic name for an fully immersive experience.
In Homeworld: Vast Reaches players assume the role of Fleet Command, a human commander directing a fleet of spaceships to attack, defend, and capture strategic resources. Players will build up their armada of ships and face off against a mysterious new foe in dynamic outer space combat. Familiar ships and huge open regions of are warped into a 360 degree battle space. Players can view, drag, drop, and view the ongoing action in a title that seems perfectly suited to the VR experience.
The new Homeworld announcement comes shortly after major Meta Quest reveals for the likes of Batman: Arkham Shadow and news that Xbox will get a Meta option too.
