Nintendo just released a brand new game for free. The zero dollars down game is, however not quite a casual loot n shoot as you might guess from the title Jump Rope Challenge.
Following on from the more extensive fitness games like Ring Fit, and even Wii Fit, Nintendo has released a completely free app to help gamers get up and down, and up and down, and, well you get the idea. Jump rope challenge appeared out of nowhere on the Nintendo eShop this morning my time and it appears to be available across the globe for nothing. The title encourages players to take their Joycon controllers and use them as ends of a jump rope or skipping rope, depending on where you are in the world.
A range of cute characters appear on screen encouraging up to two players to take part in the action and while it’s a little more serene than something like BoxVR, you’ll find it hard not to get up and hop skip across to turn on your Switch. This isn’t going to replace a fully fledged copy of Ring Fit, which we featured in our five games to get fit with list, and was developed by a group of Nintendo employees while they were also stuck working from home.
What it does do, is provide a little extra opportunity to get active while stuck indoors without having to either scour for a copy of Ring Fit, a full Vr headset and gaming PC or just splashing out on exercise equipment. You can pick up the new Jump Rope Challenge Switch game over on the Nintendo eShop for free right now and will need at least a compatible Switch console and a pair of Joycon controllers.
