During this week’s PC Gaming Show, Monumental Collab and Critical Reflex announced Drowned Lake, a unique hybrid of fishing and horror games. The story-driven game will also feature a retro VHS aesthetic and survival elements. It is currently in development for PC.
Players are whisked off to Brazil’s coastal forest, where Drowned Lake lies deep within. The area is one of folk tales and legends where many have entered, but some have not returned. Players are on the trail of a missing student, Bento, trying to discover the truth. The gameplay centers around players piloting a boat into the forest’s heart to investigate “its ominous waters to fish out the terrifying secrets hidden in the darkness.”
Key Features
- A Non-linear Horror Story, Told From Three Perspectives: Explore the most forbidding reaches of the forest as a firefighter, a journalist and an elderly fisherman. Unravel the mystery and each character’s true motives in an interactive narrative where your choices matter.
