Over the course of the last several weeks, Mattel and Milestone have been collecting submissions for the Hot Wheels Unleashed Design Battle where players were tasked with creating livery designs for the Hot Wheels Rodger Dodger. Between January 14, 2022 and February 14, 2022, over 10,000 submissions were submitted. Late last weeks, the development team announced the winner’s name and revealed the design that will soon be transformed into a real Hot Wheels toy. These will then be sold worldwide starting in December 2022.
To show off the winning submission, the team created a video that reveals it in all its glory.
“Hot Wheels is all about encouraging the challenger spirit, and we really saw that come through with the Design Battle,” said Ted Wu. “The brand has always pushed the limits of automotive performance and design to create the perfect car which was echoed in fans’ creativity with an astounding 10,000+ entries in the contest. Reds ‘Digigold’ livery was truly unique, and we look forward to making it available for fans to purchase at retail later this year.”
