The Humble team has posted a heartwarming message to site users to let them know that over $6.5M dollars have been raised through the sales of a special charity pack called Humble Conquer COVID-19 Bundle. This astronomical amount was raised through the sales of 208,527 bundles with all proceeds going to benefit Direct Relief, International Rescue Committee, Doctors Without Borders, and Partners in Health. The specially grouped package of games was available from March 31st to April 24th.
Each of the charitable organizations posted a message of thanks to the gaming community:
Direct Relief is so deeply grateful for the extraordinary generosity from the Humble Bundle community to help keep health workers safe as they put themselves at risk to keep all of us safe. This support translates into immediate, practical help – personal protective equipment for doctors and nurses, medications, and supplies for people with severe cases of COVID-19, and resources for those affected who are most at-risk throughout the country. This is such a wonderful example of everyone pulling together and doing whatever we can to protect those who are most vulnerable.
Through the generous partnership with Humble Bundle and its customers, resources from the Conquer COVID-19 Bundle will help support the International Rescue Committee’s (IRC) work to support vulnerable populations that are being hardest hit by this outbreak.
On behalf of Doctors Without Borders and the people we serve, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Humble community for your generosity. Thanks to you, we will receive close to $1.5M in donations, which will enable our teams to launch emergency programs to help stem the spread of COVID-19 in the hardest-hit communities, care for infected patients, and respond to the pandemic’s consequences on local health systems.
We know that COVID-19 will disproportionately affect the world’s most impoverished people, and devastate countries with weaker health systems. In the face of these unjust realities, the support from Humble Bundle’s community is enabling Partners In Health to launch a comprehensive effort to test, trace, treat, and advocate for those most at risk.
