Larian Studios has just pushed a new patch to Divinity Original Sin 2 that adds cross-save compatibility and new languages for iPad players.
Ipad owners of the second Divinity Original SIn adventure might have been feeling a little cut off from the rest of the community since launch. While the tablet-shaped Apple device might make a great mobile platform for this stellar RPG, owners have been unable to take the time spent on PC with them Now, and just in time for my first commute back into the office next week, Larian has pushed a patch that will add full Steam cross-save functionality to the iPad version of the title, meaning players can take their PC saves along for the ride. This will also allow progression made on the move to be brought back to the desktop, so no worries about one way traffic at home either.
In addition to the headline change, players can expect a raft of other changes to the iPad port. Over 50 tweaks come with the new patch, including newly-added overhead health bars, portrait-based targeting, and UI optimizations, as well as the long-awaited addition of Portuguese-Brazilian and Latin-American Spanish languages now available on all platforms.
Players who picked up Divinity Original Sin 2 when it launched on PC back in 2017 will be intimately familiar with Larian’s approach to world-building, providing something of a sandbox for players to explore and discover after the events of the original sin itself. While we all wait on the team completing Baldur’s Gate 3, over 100 hours of entertainment is available to enjoy alongside all the challenges of a traditional tabletop escapade, Divinity Original Sin 2 even allows up to four-player to head out on an adventure. If you grabbed this award-winning series on Xbox One, Mac, or Nintendo Switch then you might be stuck for now but I’m almost considering buying an iPad just to keep playing.
