It Looks Like Star Wars: Republic Commando Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

star wars repyublic commando nintendo switch is coming

Thanks to a very dedicated Gamer Modder and Nintendo fan, we might very well have advanced warning that Star Wars: Republic Commando is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Thanks to the eagle eye of twitter user Nikki, who goes by the handle @NWPlayer123, it seems that the classic commando shooter might very well be getting a new home on Nintendo’s hybrid on the go console. While this is all based on circumstantial evidence, it is quite incriminating. Thanks to a bot, used to scrape the Nintendo eShop metadata, it seems that somebody pushed an update to the storefront that included a game called Star Wars: Republic Commando, published by Aspyr. Aspyr is the same team that packaged and released the recent Pod Racer port and the Knights of the Old Republic RPGs on Nintendo’s newest console, so we’re reasonably confident this could be a good un.

For those of you that aren’t into speculation, you can still probably grab a copy of the original by scouring eBay and second hand stores. Dropping onto the original Xbox era gaming systems, Staw Wars: Republic Commando is a tactical first person shooter set in the Star Wars universe. As the commander of a Clone squadron, it’s up to you to lead and direct your squad through a series of dangerous missions and emerge triumphant, just before the events of Revenge of the Sith. Developed by LucasArts, this one of many Star Wars titles from the same timeline that are now available on Steam and GoG, so a Switch port doesn’t sound entirely unlikely.

For now, all we can do is polish our armor and prepare for a bit of bad batch action if Star Wars: Republic Commando does arrive on Nintendo Switch.
