For folks who just can’t get enough Jumanji in their lives, Marmalade Game Studio has terrific news: Jumanji: The Curse Returns is heading to mobile devices and can, in fact, be preordered for both iOS and Android devices. The mobile version of the game will be cross-platform compatible between mobile devices as well as with the PC version currently available on Steam. These new versions of the game will be available “this winter” with a big new update that will also simultaneously release on Steam.
The game allows up to four players to adventure together through the iconic board game from the 1995 film but with a modern twist. The objective is to beat the game by getting a member of the player’s team to the center of the board. All four players need to get them there, and every turn will reveal a fresh challenge. Whether it’s a stampede of rhinos, zebras, and more, or an angry elephant plus the hunter, Van Pelt, you’ll defeat Jumanji together or not at all.
New features include:
- encounter modes
- a shield system to protect from vines and Van Pelt’s attacks
- powered-up items that deal more damage in a single use
