Kakao Games Takes Over Worldwide Publishing Duties for ArcheAge

Kakao Games has announced that it will become the new publisher for XL Games’ signature MMORPG ArcheAge in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania. The switch from multiple other publishers into Kakao’s stable will take place beginning in December 2021.

“We are proud to begin our journey with XL Games, and launch this partnership as publisher for ArcheAge,“ says Kakao Games CEO Kyehyun Cho. “We look forward to being an active part of this groundbreaking MMO, which has brought so many fond memories to players over the years, and supporting new and exciting endeavors under the ArcheAge banner in the future.”

One of the first goals Kakao has announced is that all versions of the game will be brought into synchronization with global updates rolling out in all regions simultaneously. Prior to this, regions were updated on different schedules, usually with the Korean version receiving patches and content additions before other areas of the world. Developers have plans to reveal “further changes in support of the game and its valued community in the coming weeks and months”.
