Square Enix is taking the wraps off of some aspects of Final Fantasy XVI. A lengthy blog post by Producer Naoki Yoshida has cropped up on the PlayStation Blog and a brand new website detailing aspects of the world and introducing some of the characters players will encounter is now live.
Between the blog and the site, fans will learn more about Valisthea, the game world in which all of the action takes place. There is brief information about six realms including The Grand Duchy of Rosaria, The Holy Empire of Sanbreque, The Kingdom of Waloed, The Dhalmekian Republic, The Iron Kingdom, and the Crystalline Dominion. In addition, readers will be introduced to the Eikons, “the most powerful and deadly creatures” in the world. Lastly, a number of characters are profiled including the protagonist Clive Rosfield, his brother, Joshua Rosfield as well as Jill Warrick.
The information presented should give fans lots to chew over for a time since the next update won’t be for several months.
Our next big information reveal is scheduled for 2021, so in the meantime, I expect everyone to have fun speculating, as we have a lot in store—not only for the newest entry in the series, FF XVI, but for FF XIV, too. Needless to say, I’ll be working hard on both!
