During Gamescom 2021, Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, The Lego Group, and Lucasfilm Games thrilled fans with a brand new Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga trailer and the revelation that the game is targeting Spring 2022 for release. This is terrific news considering that just a few months ago, developers delayed it indefinitely. The good news is that the trailer should set minds at ease as it features trademark Lego-game traits including snarky humor, astonishingly detailed visuals, and inside jokes from the series.
The trailer offers viewers a peek at some of the game’s environments as well as a look at some of the game’s 300 playable characters and moments. Fans of the Star Wars IP will instantly recognize iconic scenes from throughout the movies’ history. X-wings soar, lightsabers clash, and infamous characters such as Darth Maul and Darth Vader all make an appearance. Even more recent characters like Rey and Kylo Ren show up among the 20 planets that players can travel to.
The game is headed for a spring 2022 release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
