Frontier Foundry has just announced that the upcoming strategy shooter is due to load onto PS5 and Xbox Series X this summer.
If you’re knee deep in Quantum League, then set your watch because Developer Ratloop Games Canada and publisher Frontier Foundry, of Elite fame, have just announced that their brand of turn based strategic shooter is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Summer 2021. While this might not seem all that different from plenty of other arena shooters that have exploded onto the scene, only to be unceremoniously killed off, Lemnis Gate has a trick or two up its sleeve. Or, should we say it did, does, or will have?
Time Will Tell
When it launches later this year, Lemnis gate won’t just push players out into a standard arena shooter with a bunch of unique heroes. These genre tropes are somewhat subverted by the title’s 25 second time loop. Competitors jumping into action will need to use skill and strategy as they replay their way through the same 25 second rounds. With 5 turns at the action, you’ll need to think behind and ahead in this 4D FPS while taking turns to execute an action.
We already know that Lemnis gates will incorporate local, online, 1v1, and 2v2 modes with seven player character to pick from. In combat, each Operative has its own primary weapon and special ability, so choose wisely. We don’t quite know what specific objectives are in play, or even if a definitive release date is something we should expect from this time bending genre mash up. What we do know is that we will let you know when we find out more. You can check out Lemnis Gate over on the official website now, and get a glimpse of the gameplay in the trailer above.
