Following on from Tuesday’s reveal of Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Lionsgate released even more images of the Borderland’s movie with a first look at Claptrap, Roland, Tannis, Tiny Tina, and Kreig.
While we already got our first teaser of Cate Blanchet as Lilith, we now have a bit more detail on the rest of the cast too. Yesterday, Lionsgate revealed the first images of the borderlands character roster. This news shows off the silhouettes of Jack Black as Clap Trap, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, and Florian Munteanu as Krieg. You can find a first look below, and hopefully, we will get something with a bit more color to it soon.
For those of you that somehow missed this global phenomenon come video game, the upcoming Borderland’s movie is set to drag Gearbox’s hit first-person shooter from the console to the big screen, and hopefully do it a little better than most. The celluloid version of the Borderlands universe is set to retain much of the sci-fi western charm and unique humor of the computer game, thrusting us into a tale when an infamous treasure hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the universe’s most powerful S.O.B. While on the planet, she forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland, once a highly respected soldier, but now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina, a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg, Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Curtis), the scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap, a persistent wiseass robot.
Director Eli Roth takes the helm for the movie. While we don’t have a date, we do know is it past pre-production into on set antics. Whether it will actually be worth your popcorn price, we will have to wait and see. To keep an eye on the official channels head over to the official social media channels for continued updates.
