During Gamescom 2024, Hectiq Studio introduced its penguin-themed brawler, Pingheros. Set in a snowy Mexican wonderland, players take on the role of, you guessed it: A penguin! The goal is to battle through unique environments with up to 32 other players to find out who’s the top…er…penguin on the mountain.
Developers released an introductory trailer offering viewers a peek into the hectic action in the three game modes available at launch.
Los Pingheros game modes and features
- Carnaval: A battle mode where players can charge their Pingheros with unique skills and leverage strategies to win in the arena.
- Score Spree: Players are tasked with winning via a scoreboard but are pressured with a time limit to secure victory.
- The Last Pinghero: Players must outlast their opponents with limited lives to win this thrilling mode.
- Power-Ups: Destroy cacti to uncover power-ups and game-changing items like the magic snowflake, which freezes all other penguins.
- The Dressing Room: Players can unlock new clothing, hats, and color palettes to make their penguin unique as they progress through the game.
- In-Game Traps: Players must watch their step. Slide in the wrong place, and they might encounter unexpected challenges from the environment.
