LOTRO & DDO devs to serve up free DLC for shut-ins

LOTRO and DDO

With much of the world in self-imposed isolation, game developers are stepping up to give shut-ins something to look forward to every day. Standing Stone Games has announced that all DLC content for both Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online is free to everyone from now through April 30th. In addition, developers will be on hand from time to time to run in-game events in both LOTRO and DDO.

Both games feature a number of expansions and additional added content that would normally only be available for purchase. However, developers are aiming to bring “joy to players” around the world.

Here’s the skinny via a company press announcement:

For Dungeons and Dragons Online:

  • All dungeons and raids, including those in expansion packs, are open to everyone through April 30.
  • The Buddy Bonus 5% XP will be active from March 20 through March 29. This will be in addition to the weekend events.
  • Mimic event will be active starting March 26 through April 6.
  • The anniversary event will be active starting March 26 through April 30.

For Lord of the Rings Online:
