Lots of New Minecraft Content is Coming Soon

Mojang has made a pair of announcements over the past couple of days that will be sure to thrill Minecraft players around the world. Both involve new content to explore that will provide hours of exploration and new ways to build.

The very first “seasonal adventure” (aka season pass-like system) is called Cloudy Climb that will be arriving across all versions of the game starting December 14th. Cloudy Climb is a free update that brings new content including:

  • a new progression system
  • weekly challenges
  • a “looming tower” that procedurally generates itself and rearranges things from time-to-time

During each of these activities, players will earn Adventure Points that can be used to unlock all sorts of seasonal rewards including pets, capes, flairs, emotes, and more. This is in the free tier of the seasonal adventure but there is also the Adventure Pass that will allow players to unlock even more goodies. It can be purchased for real-world cash and is an extension of the basic pass.

The second big piece of news out of the Minecraft team comes with the announcement that Caves & Cliffs is coming on November 30th. All the new content will be found on the Bedrock Edition for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, iOS/Android mobile devices, Windows PCs, macOS, and Linux.

Part II gives the mountains and caves that you know and loves a makeover. Updated terrain generation, higher peaks, more elaborate cave systems – even the ore veins are larger! They are all so gorgeous so I might have to accept one of the makeovers that my team offers me on a daily. If they can make me look like a lush cave, who am I to say no?

This update also brings CANDLES for everyone. The best light source is known to man, or at least this writer is almost here! Candles bring ambiance. Warmth. A hypnotic flickering flame. What more can you ask for? Well, maybe a candle on a cake. Go on! You’re worth it.
