Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have revealed another character archetype from Magic: Legends, an upcoming multiplayer game based on the Magic: The Gathering IP. The latest starting Planeswalker is the black-mana themed Necromancer class. This is one of the five available starting classes players will be able to choose from when first starting the game.
Necromancers are a class that will constantly have to walk the line between life and death. They can actively summon creatures that can be sacrificed for personal or party benefits or they can take the fight directly to the enemy. Summoning, however, comes with a cost. Necromancers will have to sacrifice their own health to bring these creatures into the corporeal world. Luckily, they can simultaneously siphon health from enemies to keep themselves alive.
Necromancer abilities include:
- Grim Siphon that lashes enemies and draws life to the caster.
- Grave Upheaval that sends a pair of skeletons at an enemy when cast.
- Soul Wither that slows and damages over time.
