The more things change the more they stay the same, as Mario Kart 8 holds onto the top spot in the UK Video game Chart.
The numbers are in for the UK’s latest video game chart and despite a new year, the closeout of the festive season finds a whole lot of familiar faces across the top ten places this week. With bundles buys and festive presents in eager hands, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the UK gaming charts might have seen something of a shakeup, but it looks like it’s more of the same this week with Mario kart 7 Deluxe, the cartoon kart racer from Nintendo’s fresh-faced plumber roaring home in pole position.
Beyond another week at number one, the top ten chart title finds FIFA 22 cemented firmly in second place, just like last week. EA’s FUT point machine isn’t the only title to remain motionless, with Animal Crossing and Call of Duty: Vanguard all unmoved. The full list of this week’s top ten is below, with around half the list made up of Nintendo cartridges.
