Nintendo has announced that its next Mario-themed mobile game is coming out soon. Mario Kart Tour will race to both iOS and Android mobile devices on September 25th. Players can pre-register on both the App Store and Google Play so they can be the first to get started. A Nintendo account will be needed in order to play.
The game is considered free to play with in-game microtransactions. The most recent Mario mobile game, Dr. Mario World, came under fire for its in-game purchases that many felt were outrageously expensive for what was offered. Whether that will change the monetization for Tour remains to be seen.
