Next year marks the arrival of the next Olympic games, this time to be hosted in Tokyo, Japan. Nintendo Switch players can, however, get a head start on all the competition and pageantry when Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 debuts on November 5th!
Players who’ve been dying to see a Mario vs Dr. Eggman match up or maybe Bowser vs Sonic will be happy to know that these dream matches can come true! The most iconic characters from both the Mario and Sonic series will be present to face off “against each other in the biggest video game mash-up of 2019”. Events include skating, diving, archery, and much more.
Events come in a pair of different presentations: Classic 2D events “perfect for friends & family” and 3D events that allow players to “dash, climb, jump, surf, and more”. There are also new “Dream Events” including Karate, Racing, and Shooting. Honestly, there’s something for everyone here.
But that’s not all. Developers have a brand new story to explore as players work to help Mario & Sonic escape from a 2D console, the Tokyo ’64. The goal is to thwart the plans of the evil super-duo of Dr. Eggman and Bowser.
