Marvel vs Capcom fans can get their hands on a brand new collection of classic titles, and even take them home on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, Capcom has announced that a physical version of Marvel vs Capcom’s biggest hits is available right now. The new box set features some of the biggest names in the Marvel comic book universe, fully pixelated and ready to head back through the history of console gaming.
Rather than release yet another iteration in the highly regarded fighting franchise, this new release is something of a re run. Packed full of lyrca clad muscles and 90’s nostalgia, fans can fight, shoot, and weave their way through the following games:
X-MEN CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
MARVEL SUPER HEROES
X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER
MARVEL SUPER HEROES vs. STREET FIGHTER
MARVEL vs. CAPCOM CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 New Age of Heroes
THE PUNISHER
Yes, this isn’t exactly new, but anybody who has tire pitting Cyclops against Ken will be able to head right back to the start of the long running crossover. X-Men Children of the Atom marked the very first collaboration between Capcom and Marvel and set the stage for the rest of the included titles. Upon its release, X-Men Children of the Atom received critical acclaim for its fast-paced gameplay, colorful graphics, and diverse roster of faces from the X-Men. Players could choose to fight as characters such as Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto, each with their unique abilities and fighting styles. The game’s story revolves around the X-Men facing off against their enemies, including the Sentinels and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, in intense battles to save the world from impending doom.
Anybody looking to pick up a boxed copy will get all of this history, and a 32-page comic featuring some of the most beloved Capcom characters and Marvel Superheroes. It will also include a series of upgrades. Online ranked, casual, and custom matches re added to all the fighting games. New netcode will keep things competitive and rollback should keep things fair and fluid. One button specials, spectator mode, and more are all bundled in too.
If you’re a child of the 80’s or 90’s this is probably a great gift to see you through the holiday season. You can watch history in the trailer, and head over to the official website to find out more.
