Meet the Squad and Push the Needle in a New Gripper Trailer

Gripper developers, Heart Core, just dropped a brand-new trailer introducing the heroes of this high-speed action adventure.

Speeding onto screens ahead of a full release on 29 March, a new Gripper trailer is set to introduce the uninitiated to this violent world full of high speed chases and stylish motorbikes. Set in a collapsing world, ruled by heinous gangs and made up of wastelands, this upcoming action shooter mixes traditional top down boss battlers with a speedy steed or two. Taking plenty of inspiration from the likes of Akira, this stylish new title puts players in the role of fearless cyber-biker None. When things get moving, there will be plenty of time to run and gun, but this speed demon doesn’t ride alone.

Across the brand new trailer, players get a glimpse of the rest of this post apocalyptic crew. From the aforementioned rider to his smart-mouthed bike mechanic Cat-Kit, and the tyrannical A.I. overlord of the Badlands known as Zero. While this now part man part robot is out on a quest for revenge, he enters the future with sidekick Cat-Kit. This unusual floating companion might have started out as a simple gift for None, but it’s had a few alterations. Now bosting a personality, and the voice of Derek Daisey & Misuzu Yamada, this cutting edge kitty is both a friend and mechanic for this quest.

You’ll also see the villain of the piece. Zero is a rogue AI that rules over the land. With None’s parents incarcerated by this malevolent code, its up to you to cut through its armies of steel to free them. Gripper will be available on March 29th on Steam and Nintendo Switch. If you found #Drive just a little too relaxing them this mix of stylish looks and high speed attacks is definitely worth a look.
