Classic Konami video game classics from the Metal Gear series are back on GOG alongside other 8 bit classic.

It’s time to revisit the 1990s and beyond as GOG has announced that a whole host of classic titles from the Konami back catalogue are making their way onto modern gaming rigs via the aforementioned GOG storefront. The announcement marks the return of the first three Metal Gear games to PC after roughly 20 years away. This is the first time that the two titles have been available for PC digitally and includes obvious technical upgrades to allow the games to run on the powerhouses required for games like the more recent Metal Gear Survive.

While gamers won’t get a rebuilt masterpiece like DOOM or Mafia: Definitive Edition, what you will get is the opportunity to re-experience two game-changing titles. The first Metal Gear is a stealeth classic while the second is the iconic Metal Gear Solid, the 1998 hit that firmly cemented the franchise in gaming lore for decades to come. Finally, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance follows us the trio of stealthy Snake centric experiences.

Alongside the announcement that we’re getting back to the early days of Snake, Konami and GOG are also set to release the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra. The pack represents more than just two early outings for what would become iconic franchises. Instead, the Konami Collector’s Series pack contains five unique games from the 8-bit era. Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Contra, and Super C. This means you receive five chances to save the universe in one!

You can grab all three of the Metal Gear games over on GOG now for less than the price of a pizza, as well as the other classics on offer, so why not check out why Snake is quite so Solid now.
