Kick-off this morning with a peek into a bizarre new world with a trailer for an upcoming narrative title and all-round weird wonder called Metamorphosis
Coming out of Polish studio Ovid Works, this mind bending tale is inspired by the Franz Kafka title of the same name and is due to crawl out onto PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC later this summer. The curiously strange tale takes place in a sprawling CGI world where players inhabit the body of a bug. Actually, players inhabit the body of a human that inhabits the body of a bug. Stepping into the oversized world and trying to work out exactly what has happened, players will find themselves drawn into a surrealist adventure where you can wield newfound abilities and your wits to get you out of this mess.
A Messy Scenario
Before you become the smudge you can check out the trailer for this upcoming title. Opening from a first person perspective, it gives a little bit more nuance to the description of Metamorphasis. Tied to a chair and looking like a cardboard cutout cold war interrogation room, the trailer drops in talking bugs and hints about a mysterious tower. Assuming you get out in one piece you’ll be expected to use a range of unique moment mechanics, thanks to the many limbs available, to parkour, wall climb, search for clues, and overcome obstacles. It’s all quite mind bending and frankly we kind of love it already.
Metamorphasis is published by All in! Games is a new video game publishing and production company based in Krakow, but they haven’t quite given us the exact release date yet. Once we know more about this first person narrative we will let you know. Until then check out the trailer and if you love odd leftfield ideas then prepare to feel a bit surreal.
