During yesterday’s Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft announced State of Decay 3, the latest iteration in the series. During the event, developers showed off a new cinematic trailer featuring a lone woman with a crossbow. She finds herself face-to-face with a zombified deer, something that’s definitely not your run of the mill camping encounter!
SoD3 is the latest game in the series originally developed by Undead Labs before it was purchased by Microsoft. To date, over five million players have taken part in the first two games making it a successful franchise that capitalizes on the Walking Dead era of television and graphic novels.
After viewing the trailer, some media writers began to “hear rumblings” that the game will be more of a persistent online world similar in scope to an MMO. We’ll have to wait to hear more from the developers about this as little else was revealed during yesterday’s event.
