Microsoft Is Testing New Refund Program For Xbox and Windows 10 Store

Microsoft Refund

Microsoft is currently testing a new automated refund system for Windows 10 Store and Xbox. It will function similarly to those of Origin and Steam. Users will be able to easily refund digital purchases. On conditions that they played for less than 2 hours and have initiated the refund within 2 weeks of the purchase.

Microsoft automated refund system requirements

As mentioned above, players wishing to return a game will have to abide to the following conditions. The play time should not exceed 2 hours across all accounts as well as the refund should be initiated within 14 days of the purchase.

Players can not refund DLCs, season passes and add-ons. A player’s account should reflect that the game was downloaded and launched at least once. Players will need to wait at least 1 day after the official release. Certain applications may not be available for refund.

Microsoft warns that it will utilize the right to block users who abuse the new function.

Right now the function is available only to a small number of insiders. Microsoft called it a “pilot stage”.
