Mojang has announced that Minecraft has been updated to bring the keenly-anticipated Caves & Cliffs update into the game. The first in a series of updates in the Caves & Cliffs content expansion is now live for Bedrock Edition owners on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices. Windows, macOS, and Linux users can access it via the Java Edition.
Caves & Cliffs: Part 1 brings lots of new toys for players to utilize including new mobs, blocks, and textures. These include:
- the axolotl described as “totally adorable yet fiercely predatorial”
- an incredibly cute goat with ramming tendencies
- the fancy glow squid and glow ink
- amethyst, dripleaf, and copper blocks to name a few new additions
- the Spyglass to peek into the distance
- lightning rods “which emit a redstone signal when struck by lightning”
Caves & Cliffs: Part I introduces new mobs and blocks to Minecraft! Get to know the axolotl, but don’t let the adorableness of this bucket-happy mob fool you. It is very much a predator. The goats are also incredibly cute, but also incredibly fond of ramming, so keep your distance or prepare yourself for a journey through the air. If you happen to be standing near a body of water when the goat’s head connects with your blocky body, you might be bumped into the glow squid. Be sure to grab some glow ink while you’re swimming with these luminous lovelies!
