The very first Monster Hunter game released in March 2004 for PlayStation 2 which means that the series has just turned 15 years old. To celebrate this very special occasion, Capcom released a video demonstrating the gameplay from various games of the series.
The series consists of a great number of games for a variety of platforms, spin-offs, anime, a manga by Hiro Mashima, a card game, and even a movie currently in development.
The latest game in the series, Monster Hunter: World was released in January 2018. The title broke Capcom’s records and became the best selling game of the company, shipping over 12 million copies. The total series has sold 53 million units worldwide.
